This Khaled Azooz oud is a high-end Egyptian model distinguished by careful craftsmanship, a particularly elegant selection of woods and a rich, deep and expressive tonal character. It is intended for demanding musicians looking for an instrument with real sonic presence and a refined level of finishing.
Its superb American walnut bowl brings density, depth and a rich midrange response. The tone remains warm while retaining good definition, with a full and balanced character particularly well suited to Arabic repertoire.
The cedar soundboard reinforces this sense of warmth and flexibility. The attack is smooth yet responsive, notes develop naturally and the resonance is generous. The result is a warm, deep and highly expressive sound, with excellent fullness and a very good ability to reproduce subtle playing nuances.
The ebony fingerboard and pegs complete this high-end construction with stability, comfort and durability. The mother-of-pearl decorations around the soundholes add a particularly refined finish and underline the precious character of the instrument without making the design feel excessive.
With its balance of depth, warmth, responsiveness and finishing quality, this model perfectly represents Khaled Azooz’s craftsmanship in an instrument designed for advanced and professional musicians.
