The soundboard is made from carefully selected cedar, a wood highly appreciated for its vibrational sensitivity and rich harmonic response. It provides a quick reaction under the risha and produces a warm, expressive and balanced tone.

The bowl is crafted from extremely old walnut that has been carefully selected. This rare wood provides remarkable tonal depth, warm mid frequencies and natural projection while offering a visually stunning grain pattern.

The fingerboard is made of ebony, a dense and durable wood ensuring precision and long-term stability. The tuning pegs are made from rosewood, providing excellent tuning stability and smooth adjustment.

Acoustically, this oud delivers a typically Syrian tone: warm, deep and full of emotion. The bass response is round and present, while the mids and trebles remain clear and expressive.

Ahmed Khalil is among the respected Syrian luthiers who continue the traditional oud-making heritage by combining traditional techniques with careful wood selection.
