This stunning professional Egyptian darbuka belongs to the prestigious Sombaty line produced by Gawharet El Fan. Designed for demanding percussionists, it combines powerful sound, excellent stability and a particularly refined oriental aesthetic. The Bawaba model stands out thanks to its exceptional level of craftsmanship. Its luxurious decoration features magnificent geometric patterns made of blue mother-of-pearl, producing spectacular iridescent reflections depending on the light.
The Sombaty shape is especially appreciated in Egyptian and Lebanese playing styles. Thanks to its larger size and heavier weight, this darbuka offers excellent stability and allows musicians to produce deep and powerful bass tones.
With its generous dimensions (48 cm height and approximately 6.2 kg), the instrument delivers strong projection and a wide dynamic range between deep bass tones (doum) and crisp high tones (tek and ka).
Each darbuka is handcrafted by the artisans of Gawharet El Fan, one of the most respected Egyptian manufacturers of professional oriental percussion instruments.
Before shipping, every instrument is carefully inspected and adjusted by our team to ensure optimal sound quality.
The darbuka comes with a padded gig bag, a spare drumhead and a tuning key.
